Solo concert: Celtic – Oriental – Folk

“Music as universal language of the Soul and as a bridge between different people, worlds and cultures.”
Solo Concert Gerhard Fankhauser
Spanish Lauta, Oud, Vocals

My solo program takes us on a journey to the magic world of a bard in our times.
Far away from any stereotyped ideas about romantic Middle Ages, we will experience a musical traveller's diary, authentic soundscapes of different worlds and yet harmony. – Celtic and oriental music, virtuos playing of the lute, overtone singing, mystical ballads and tales.
A concert in the spirit of the ancient bard tradition, with much profundity, humor and wisdom of the heart.

Fatamorgana: healing worldmusic

Worldmusic and dance as a message of peace and universal consciousness.
Einat Gilboa (Israel)

Gerhard Fankhauser

Fatamorgana “Fatamorgana” is the joint project of Gerhard Fankhauser and his partner Einat Gilboa.
Oriental worldmusic, chants, devotional songs, overtonesinging, soft grooves and gentle dance makes this show a beautiful and deep experience; spiritual music on a high artistic level of performance and expression.
Einat Gilboa finished the “school of visual theatre and performance art” in Jerusalem and is working with singing, dancing and acting. In her art she is uniting elements from oriental, Indian and shamanic traditions.
This programme truely is a dance of the heart...

Overtone Singing: Music of Silence

“Overtone singing is a bridge between heaven and earth, cosmic sounds of the human voice.”
Overtone Singing Gerhard Fankhauser
Lauta, Oud, Monochord, Vocals
The art of overtone singing has its roots mainly in Tuva, Mongolia, Tibet and with nomadic tribes of Europe. Above the actual sung keynote one can hear isolated, brilliant sounds, entire overtone melodies and compositions.
Accompanied by the monochord, a multi-stringed overtone instrument from pythagorean tradition, overtone music reveals the inner harmony of sound.
Together with old mantra chants and meditative sufi music on the arabian oud, this programme is really a listening experience.

Both of the young female singers are as well professional dancers and create a wonderful and charming atomsphere.

Mandala is a project together with isaraeli musician Sheer Sofer. He owns a fascinating collection of ethnic and experimental musical instruments, which he uses in workshops, soundtracks, story tales and treatments. With our common activities we invoke an experience of the healing power of music and sound, and especially of overtone singing, which is partially of shamanic origin.
Our musical collaboration and friendship has already brought a lot of joy, laughing and creative spirit to our lives; one result of which is our joint CD “Mandala - Night Queen”.
Mandala is a dance between nature and spirit, tradition and fiction, silence and dynamics.

Healing Music: Voice - Sound - Overtones

This workshop is an introduction into the healing work with music and sound as well as to the art of overtone singing.
Mandala Sound being the essence of all music is a creative power and contains in itself the law of harmony.
The human voice opens the innermost layers of our being and is a powerful means for transformation and selfrealization. In the overtone singing we are touching the cosmic dimension of our voice, the inner harmony becomes audible and reveals a universal music of fascinating beauty and healing power.
This ancient technique is a yoga as well as a way to explore our vocal potential and enlarges our understanding of music and sound.
